Pav Bhaji Masala is a special spice blend used in the popular Indian street food Pav Bhaji. It typically contains coriander, cumin, dry mango powder, fennel seeds, and other spices.
Pav Bhaji (serves 2)
Ingredients:
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (potatoes, cauliflower, peas, carrots)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 2 tsp pav bhaji masala
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 pav buns
- Salt to taste
- Lemon wedges and chopped coriander for garnish
Instructions:
- Boil and mash the vegetables.
- In a pan, heat butter and sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
- Add pav bhaji masala, mashed vegetables, and salt. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Toast pav buns with butter.
- Serve hot bhaji with toasted pav, garnished with lemon wedges and coriander.
Masala Dosa (serves 2)
Ingredients:
- 2 dosa
- 1 cup mashed potato
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp pav bhaji masala
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add mashed potato, pav bhaji masala, and salt. Mix well.
- Spread the mixture on dosa, roll, and serve hot with chutney and sambar.
Vegetable Masala Toast (serves 2)
Ingredients:
- 4 bread slices
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp pav bhaji masala
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Sauté vegetables with pav bhaji masala and salt in a pan.
- Spread the mixture on bread slices, top with cheese if desired.
- Toast until crispy. Serve hot.
